PFHC 2018 Academy
PFHC offers development training opportunities in 2018 through our through our Academy. The Academy caters to athletes across the following age groups: U14, U16 & U19.
The Academy is primarily suited for athletes that fit any of the following criteria:
- Those not selected for a travel team from our Aug. 2018 try-out.
- Athletes new to the game.
- Athletes who want to train throughout the year on an informal basis.
All training takes place outdoors, exclusively at Bedford Field at Princeton University. Training groups will be organized by age group and/or level of play. Practices will focus heavily on the development of basic and intermediate skill. Academy athletes will not engage in competition outside the club. The Inter-Academy League (see below) will provide ongoing competitive playing opportunities.
- 8 Weeks (March 27 through May 22)
- Tuesdays (7:30-8:45pm)
- Tuition: $385 $100 optional deposit; full balance payable March 15.
The Academy consists of two elements: Practices and an Inter-Academy League. Practices and league games will alternate every scheduled Academy Thursday.

- Trapping & first touches
Changing points of attack / counter attack
Playing to space
- 10 min. warm-up; 20 min. drill / organization
- 5 v 5; 3x15 min. games
- Score from anywhere
- Record results / league standings
Teams will be formed according to age/school. Athletes from the same school are encouraged to register (individually) and then will be given the opportunity to form their own teams for the duration of Academy practices and league games (6-8 athletes per team). Those registered without a sufficient number of teammates from the same school will be matched with similar individuals to form teams.
In order to participate in the Academy, athletes are required to provide the following: stick, shin guards, mouth guard and proper footwear (running shoes). Goal keepers need to supply their own kit. Field players will be required to purchase a training pinnie.
